It’s time. I’m making a record. The past year has been an incredible time of change for me. I relocated to Atlanta, lost some people very dear to me, and had to navigate coming into myself through all of it. Now it’s March and I have a collection of new songs that reflect all of that.
I’m sitting in a coffee shop in my hometown right now and i’m trying to process what this is all going to look like. I don’t know what the direction is going to be yet. I don’t know what the sound is going to be yet. But, I know that I have thoughts that I want to share. I’ve realized in the past few months that the songs that are easiest for people to connect to are the ones that are most personal. And so that’s what i’m doing. Some of these songs are tough to sing because they are the stories of my life. The ups and downs and everything in between. But maybe that’s what people are looking for. Maybe they’re looking for songs that aren’t shy about how tough life is. I’m so good at disguising the harshness of the truth sometimes. Now i’m realizing that life gets ugly and sometimes the only way to deal with it is to admit that.
As i’m processing what this is going to take, i’m realizing that I can’t do this alone. It’s going to take resources that are beyond me. So, i’m going to be launching a Kickstarter campaign in the next month or two. I don’t know what the monetary goal for the campaign will be, but i’m hoping to raise somewhere between 25-50% of the cost and cover the rest on my own. More details will be coming about all of this in the future, but I want to get it out there now so that people can be thinking about it and deciding if they want to support it. Right now, we’re shooting to be tracking in July/August for a late fall release. My good friend Aaron Krause will be producing the record in Nashville. Final details aren’t put together yet, but the money I raise will be going towards compensating him and renting the studio and engineer we need to track drums and any other big things.
If you’re even considering being involved with this, i’d love to keep you connected. Email loganmillermusic@gmail.com and I will send you a copy of my live EP and a demo. I want to be transparent in this process and let people actually decide if they’d like to help out. If you think it’s something you’d like to help out with, it would mean so much to me for you to share this around and get other people involved. The Kickstarter campaign will have benefits for getting involved and i’m hoping that there will be something for everyone to get excited about. Also, if you want to see some video’s of my old songs and what I do, you can go here.
Thanks so much for the consideration,
Logan
Here’s the 2nd video from my live one take EP shoot with Tom Wehrle. It’s a cover of Coldplay’s “Charlie Brown”. Hope you enjoy it and spread it around!

Last week, I had an incredible night tracking and filming a live EP with my good buddy, Tom Wehrle. We did 6 songs all together. The audio is all finished and the videos are just about done. We’ll be releasing all the videos in the coming weeks, but for now, here is the first track of the EP. If you like it, you can pick up the whole EP at www.loganmiller.bandcamp.com. Aaaaaaaaand, if you buy it, you’ll get a bonus track of me covering Charlie Brown by Coldplay. It would mean the world to me if you shared it with people who might like it. Thanks so much!

Atlanta people - I have a show booked on February 3rd at the Redlight Cafe in Midtown. I’ll post details when the date gets closer, but, for now, please mark it down and spread the word if you would. Also, it would mean a ton if people went and liked my page at www.facebook.com/loganmillermusic so that I can get updates out a lot easier.
Thanks!

My church is partnering with an organization to donate a rubble removal team to Haiti in the wake of the earthquake last year. Much of Haiti is still covered in rubble and the people can not get on to rebuilding until this tangible need for removal is met. What would it look like if we all came together to serve the world? Maybe, Christmas is about far more than getting a bunch of stuff. Instead of that sweater you’ll never wear, or gift cards to stores so you can fill your already full closet, we could cut back a little and donate that money to real need. Together, we can make rebuilding Haiti a reality. Check out the link above and lets do this thing together.

I have a christmas song that I recorded last year up for free download. Please check it out and spread the word if you like it. While you’re there, I also have a 3-song live EP for free and it would mean the world to me for you to download it. Thank you so much.

I’ve been spending a lot of time writing. Sometimes songs flow out. Sometimes they don’t. I’ve been bless lately to be in a spot where they are coming. I’ll be in Atlanta for 3 more days and then I’ll be going back to St. Louis. I’m gonna try to put these songs down while i’m home and get them out. There is, potentially, as much at stake in good music as there is in any other job. I hope I don’t take that lightly.
Also, early next year I’m setting up some shows in the Atlanta area. I’ll post details about that whenever they are set, but it would mean the world if you came or passed it along to someone in the area who could come. Thanks so much.

I am beyond blessed and honored to have been invited to be in the choir for Passion2012. I know huge things are going to happen in Atlanta come January 2nd. If you’re not signed up for Passion yet, you need to. Thousands of people will be filling the Georgia Dome to change the world through Jesus. Let’s do this thing together?
See you at the Dome,
Logan
A while ago I covered MGMT’s Kids in my own acoustic-not-so-much-MGMT’s-kids way. Here’s the video from that moment. I wish it didn’t have that buzzy thing going on, but, hey, i’m never gonna win any awards for cinematography, I suppose. Let me know what you think, and if you like it I have a new live EP up at www.loganmiller.bandcamp.com. Enjoy.

Here’s a little video of me covering Steal Your Heart by Augustana. I hope you like it and check out some of my other stuff. I have a free live EP up at www.loganmiller.bandcamp.com that i’d love for everyone to hear. Let me know what you think of everything.
